Celebrating our young musicians
We are thrilled to congratulate six of our students on their acceptance into the prestigious Melbourne Youth Orchestra Ensemble programs for 2026. This is a wonderful achievement and a true testament to the strength of Sophia Mundi’s music program.
Arcis (Year 10), on cello, Prajna (Year 8), on violin, and Olivier (Year 8) on violin have been accepted into Melbourne Youth Strings for the second-year running. Joining them this year are Julian (Class 6) on cello and Terje (Year 10) on viola.
We also congratulate Rae (Class 6), who was accepted into the Melbourne Camerata Strings on violin.
Each weekend, these students rehearse alongside other young musicians from across Victoria, exploring repertoire and refining their skills under the guidance of passionate and expert conductors. Like Sophia Mundi’s music program, the ensembles are designed to nurture not just technical excellence, but a lifelong love of music - because it is that love which inspires continued learning, creativity, and participation.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to their music teachers for their guidance, encouragement, and support in the lead-up to auditions, and to all the families who nurture their children’s musical journeys – whatever they may be!
Congratulations to Arcis, Prajna, Olivier, Julian, Terje and Rae - we can’t wait to see where your music takes you next.
