The Sophia Mundi enrolment journey begins with an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We invite prospective students and their families to join us on a school tour.

Important note regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus):

In light of the ongoing Victorian Government restrictions due to the Covid-19 Virus, we are not permitted to conduct onsite School Tours for prospective students and their families.

If you are seeking an enrolment for your child in 2021, please contact our Registrar on (03) 9419 9229 or by email: registrar@sophiamundi.vic.edu.au. We are happy to discuss ways that we can work with you to support essential educational planning and decision making in preparation for next year.

We ask that if you are exploring an enrolment with us beyond 2021, please Book a Tour for next year.

Our tours are held on the first Tuesday of each month.  We also offer tours on the fourth Saturday of each month for those who find it difficult to visit on a weekday (please note that tours do not run during school holiday breaks).

Tuesday tours leave promptly from the School Reception at 9.30a.m.  Bookings are essential.

Saturday tours also leave promptly from the school Reception on the hour, each hour between 10:00am – 1:00pm. Come along and meet our Principal and while you’re here, enjoy the Farmers Market which is held within the Abbotsford Convent precinct.  When making a booking for a Saturday tour, please select one of three available times from the drop down menu.

Application and Enrolment

Applications to enrol your child at Sophia Mundi can be submitted at any time. We encourage early applications to increase the likelihood of securing a place in your preferred year of entry. The acceptance of your application will place your child on our applicant list. Please note that this does not secure an enrolled place; places at Sophia Mundi are offered in order of the date of application. Applicants with a connection to the school will receive priority.

Enrolment steps:

Step 1: Complete and submit an Application Form together with a registration fee of $180 for one applicant and $90 per subsequent applicant. The registration fee is non-refundable.

Step 2: Your application will be placed onto our applicant list for the relevant Class and you will receive confirmation of this from the Registrar.

Step 3:  A family interview with the Principal and/or Head of School and the relevant Class Teacher/Guardian will be scheduled.  You will be required to submit an Enrolment Form along with supporting documents prior to the interview.

Note: Families based interstate or overseas may not be required to attend an enrolment interview prior to an Offer of Enrolment.  Alternatively, an initial introduction via Skype may be offered.  A meeting with the Principal and/or Head of School and the relevant Class Teacher/Guardian will be essential prior to commencing.

Step 4: A further interview/s may be required with our Support Education and/or Welfare staff.

Step 5: A formal Letter of Offer may be issued at the discretion of the Principal, which will ask for the payment of the non-refundable Enrolment Confirmation Fee by the due date.

Fees

Our  Fee Policy 2020 applies to Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents and the dependent children of a parent who holds a Temporary Work (Skilled) visa (subclass 457).

Additional fees apply to the dependent children of a parent who holds a Student Visa (subclass 500) and to students who hold a Visitor Visa.  Please contact the registrar@sophiamundi.vic.edu.au for more information.

 

Sophia Mundi Steiner School Scholarships

Eligibility

The following Scholarships are available and open to Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents for new secondary student placements only.  These Scholarships are intended to recognise outstanding achievement or relevant personal circumstance:

Academic Scholarship – for gifted students with demonstrated academic ability
Artistic Scholarship – awarded to students who demonstrate excellence in the Arts (Visual, Literature and Performing)
Principal’s Diversity Scholarship (means tested) – supports students who due to family circumstances, would not otherwise be able to attend Sophia Mundi

Scholarship entitlements

Scholarships provide students with tuition fee remission.  Additional fees (Confirmation, Camp, Music, Sundries, Contributed Services and Building Fund) are not typically covered by the Scholarship.
