Exchange Students
Sophia Mundi Steiner School is a registered Exchange Organisation, participating in a reciprocal programme that operates world-wide with other Steiner/Waldorf Schools.
Taking part in a Student Exchange is an enriching and often life-changing experience. It is certainly the best way to learn about another culture. Our students experience cultural diversity, develop networks, forge friendships and foster the skills needed to live and work in a global community.
Our programme offers students in Class 10 the opportunity to live and attend school with an agreed exchange partner over a period of approximately 90 days. Each year, incoming students will typically join us for Term 1 (January-March) and in turn, Sophia Mundi students will spend Term 2 (April-June) with their exchange partner. Timing can be negotiated in consultation between the families and schools in both countries. All living expenses and accommodation throughout the exchange are provided by the Host Family and there is no charge for school fees.
At Sophia Mundi, it is a prerequisite that our students study French as their second language and as such, we currently prioritise our exchanges with other French-speaking schools, supporting our students to immerse themselves in the language and culture.
Some of the schools with whom we have current relationships are:
Avignon, France: École Steiner Waldorf
Chatou, France: École Perceval
Verrières-le-Buisson, France: École Steiner Waldorf
Geneva, Switzerland: École Rudolf Steiner Geneve
As our programme continues to grow, we would be delighted to consider establishing exchange partnerships with other Steiner/ Waldorf Schools.
Please note that as part of our registration as an official Exchange Organisation, all incoming students must hold a Student Visa (subclass 500), issued via an AASES Form. There is no cost to this Visa type for Exchange Students. Application instructions for the Student Visa will be provided along with all other required paperwork once the exchange partnership has been confirmed.
