At Sophia Mundi we have Support Education staff dedicated to working with students with learning support needs. However, because of our small classes and nurturing environment many learning needs can be met well in the classroom environment. We recommend visiting the school to get a sense of the environment, the staff and how we might be able to meet your child’s needs.
Information from parents, class screenings and appropriate testing is used to identify students with barriers to learning. Support is focused on individuals and groups who are at higher risk of not being able to participate successfully in classroom education. It aims to improve their learning and resilience through effective and appropriate support.
Sophia Mundi also has an Inclusion & Wellbeing Coordinator to support class teachers and class guardians in responding to individual students who require additional emotional assistance and support.
Linking with the local community gives Sophia Mundi access to an extended network of professionals and therapists who can provide expertise and experience that can support the needs of the students. We have begun to work with a visiting school doctor who works out of Steiner’s philosophy and supports teachers and parents with educational talks and discussions.
