Welcome to the Sophia Mundi Steiner School
Abbotsford, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Sophia Mundi Steiner School Primary Campus is situated amongst beautiful and peaceful surroundings of the natural bushland overlooking the Yarra River and the Collingwood Children's Farm in Abbotsford, an inner city suburb of Melbourne.  Our Secondary School Campus is located nearby in Nicholson Street, Abbotsford.

Sophia Mundi Inner-City Steiner school was founded in 1985 on the initiative of a group of parents seeking a Steiner (or Waldorf) education for their children. It has grown to be a school of 200 students from playgroups for mothers and infants and Prep through to Class 12.

At Sophia Mundi Steiner School we aim to provide an education program of the highest quality, fostering healthy development in each individual child, providing our students with values which will enable them to find meaning and purpose in their life and also provide them with the knowledge, skills and means to work competently in this modern world. The curriculum is designed to match the overall development of the child and is culturally rich, broadly-based and integrated from (Prep to Class 12).  The curriculum offers a balance of academic, artistic and practical learning experiences.

Our task as educators is to prepare children for an unpredictable future. We nurture healthy development. We aim to provide the right nourishment at each stage of physical, emotional and spiritual growth.
